Galgo puppies dumped by the gypsies – safe with Galgos Rescue Almeria
From Sandy Galgoslover.
‘These 3 galgo puppies were dumped a couple of days ago by gypsies in Vicar. They are malnourished, dehydrated and probably also full of fleas and ticks. They need to be rescued as soon as possible before they end up back with this evil scum.
More than ever we need your help, these 3 little ones need medical care, vaccinations, deworming, treatment against fleas, ticks…At this moment we have a huge outstanding bill at our vet and no funds are coming in.
For these puppies GRA is going to do what’s necessary to help and find them good homes.
All help is welcome to help these 3.
Like we always say ‘together we can achieve more for those who need our help the most’.

NOWZAD – saving the animals in Afghanistan
Fingers crossed for today that the animals get out of Afghanistan.(Explanation by Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends_. We truly hope that by tomorrow morning there is some good news for Nowzad and the evacuation of their team and the dogs and cats
Here is some insight about Nowzad and how it began not just rescuing abandoned dogs and cats from the streets. That the animals of Nowzad are truly life-savers. Many who been reunited with their Veterans from combat have kept their comrade alive, when the black dog of PTSD and depression looms around the corner.
To think these dogs and cats may be euthanised, they are so close to freedom and a better life but certain people are preventing this happening . They include a dozen British embassy cats — such as Mr Grey, Chopsy, Sweep, and Scar — which were dumped by British diplomats. Those who prevented this flight of freedom will never be forgiven.
From Melissa MontagueRaise 4 Nowzad
1etSp0ehhonsoriegd ·My husband has given me permission to share this letter that I want to share far and wide because this is a voice representing thousands and this is what Nowzad means to our veterans (I told you he was so much more eloquent than I am!). Rest well Nowzad army, hoping for better news tomorrow (25/8/2021)

Why greyhounds & galgos make great pets
We have recently returned to live in the UK, after living in france for 20 years and being involved in trips to Spain to bring rescued galgos and podencos back to France for foster and adoption. We live in a area where there is still a greyhound racing track so there are a few greyhound rescue/rehoming associations for those retiring from the track (I hate the racing, so many dogs get injured) Whilst visiting a National Trust Manor House last weekend, we were delighted to meet 6 greyhounds, all now happily rehomed for their forever lives. There are several galgos rehomed in the area just south of where we live, which I met recently at a Fun Dog Show. We all know they make great pets, so enjoy the video.

Galgos & greys as therapy dogs
Back in 1994 when my first greyhound turned up at our home, as a stray, and no one was adopting greyhounds in those days…Greyhounds In Need was only just getting off the ground. Molly was such a lovely friendly hound that I proposed her as a Pets as Therapy dog. We used to visit a retirement home where she loved meeting the residents, telling their stories of dogs they had owned, and sharing the cake when they had a birthday!Yo Galgo has made a film about them galgos as therapy dogs.
‘our #6 podcast is out!! It´s open, free, and about a very important topic – Galgos as therapy dogs with Sherry Mangold
Today´s podcast shows us the power of animal companionship, and the possibilities that working with dogs brings to modern medicine. https://www.moonleaks.org/galgos-as-therapy-dogs/

Protectora Scooby – please donate for flea & tick treatment
Protectora Scooby have hundreds of rescued dogs and cats in their shelters and desperately need to give them treatment. Here’s what they say.‘Raising money for Protective and Sanctuary Scooby and your contribution will make a difference regardless of the amount. Any help counts. Thank you for your support. We need to deworm our dogs and cats, both those who are already in the shelter and those who are arriving and as they have to do both external and internally, and it is not the same to do so with 50 animals as with 200. We have sought an effective and very comfortable product for dogs (CREDELIO PLUS) as with a single pill, furry ones are protected for a month from ticks, fleas and gut worms.
When placing the order directly from the supplier, the product comes out more economical but we have a large number of animals and need to raise €2500,00. Can you give us a donation please, no matter how small.
How to donate, including paypal.
