  • Planning a holiday – help the dogs in Spain – holidays for dog lovers

Dog Lovers HolidaysThe daffodils are out, buds on the lilac tree, new shoots on the honeysuckle – Spring is on its way where I live in France. If you are thinking holidays – but as with so many people – including me – can’t afford to pay a lot, think about going to Spain and staying with a refuge or on a dog-lovers holiday and help the volunteers with the rescued dogs. What could be more enjoyable and more rewarding?!

Think about going to Scooby, they have hundreds and hundreds of dogs, plus other animals. Go and stay for a week or two and join the team. Contact Scooby. Or a dog-lovers holiday at Tara Casa in Murcia, where you can help dogs, destress, create a mosaic…what about a week in Malaga at finca 112carlotagalgos, help with the hounds always welcome…

Any other associations who’d like to be added to the list, please post below.

  • More from ACTIN on Spanish perreras

Link to another article on the ACTIN website. Please read and publicise widely.

  • Tale of a perrera dog – let it not be in vain

ACTIN logo 170Vivienne Wharton lives in Murcia and is very involved in animal welfare with her two groups. Animal Welfare Support Murcia was her original group, on Facebook. Now through ACTIN she is working on trying to change the attitude of Spanish people towards animal abandonment, mistreatment, neutering, and she has written this article about the perreras – we call them killing stations – where hundreds of dogs are put to sleep every week. Her article was prompted by the unnecessary killing of a pointer – through Facebook he had been found a home, people to donate to his care – he was due to be rescued.

I know you, dear readers, will be very moved by the article. Please show your support for the work ACTIN do by joining and adding your support.
