Good afternoon, We need help to catch a galga in Umbrete, Seville. The galga was abandoned about two months ago, but in recent weeks someone has been beaten or has run over and God knows. The fact is that the galga is now injured, has a leg hanging and getting worse by the minute. We need help to capture the galga…
In Spanish history, the White Galgo was revered – it was second in importance only to the birth of a son. There was even a Royal Medal awarded to the white galgo. How they have fallen. Latest guest of Galgos del Sol. Tina says ‘Marie was caught on the streets of Torre Pacheco. This is a town full of abandoned galgos where I am trying to catch Lorenzo. When I got the call i thought it might have been him they caught! It was Antonio who called me to see if we could take her so I said yes. She is injured, extremely underweight which you can’t appreciate in the photos and frightened. She will go to the vets at 5.30pm. We already know NO microchip. (UPDATE 30/03/2011 – she has not been vaccinated as she is too thin, blood test done and sent for analysis)

At least 10 galgos, one injured on its neck, and 4 podencos are amongst the dozens of dogs due to be put down this week at Mairena. Dennis and Sandy are galgos rescued by Tina Solera. They both deserve forever homes. Can you help?
Dennis was abandoned in Murcia. He is aprox 3 yrs, castrated, vaccine rabia and enfermadad, blood tests for leishmania and erchlicia are all negative and he is microchipped. He is loving and affectionate.
Sandy was found living on the streets of Pilar de Horadada and as soon as she entered the refuge she was very happy to have water and food, she was even skinnier than she is now. She had the early stages of filaria, which was caught with treatment and she is now fine.
She loves cuddles and wants constant attention but in a positive way. She doesn’t hassle you, she just pushes her nose into you. She wants to love someone and wants someone to own her 100%. She was always nice with the other dogs but unfortunately one dog bit her tail off, can you see? She walks lovely on a lead also. She really is a very good dog and will make someone a fantastic companion.
