Galgos del Sol – saving yet more abandoned galgos in Murcia
– Yes, there’s a galga dumped in there! You will remember the rescue of the Bullas dogs in Operation Rehala in January and then the Mazarron dogs from the gypsy in Murcia as well. Galgos del Sol have been very involved in these operations, taking many dogs into their care. This week they have rescued another half dozen abandoned galgos, one of whom had been dumped in a skip! – Luckily he has not been beaten almost to death- like esperanza a couple of years ago – just injured and terrified.
Here’s the story so far.
‘It’s impossible to try and holiday when you live in Murcia. Galgos del Sol gets a call and goes out again and what do we find..?? A galga trapped in the rubbish dumpster and 3 galgos living on the rubbish tip. The galga trapped was very difficult because she was scared so we she would become aggresive when we tried to climb in, and the others were not so easy either.

Calling all associations to Mazarron, Murcia – 40 galgos and pods starving to death
Galgos del Sol, La Forteleza and Andreas Animal Rescue are returning this evening to the gypsy camp at Mazarron where it has been discovered that he has more dogs there. There are over 40 galgos and podencos hidden in dark holes with no food or water.He has already had a 4,000 euro fine from Seprona, but they do not stop him taking on more dogs. These are just being left to starve to death.
La Forteleza,GdS and AAR,all agree that these dogs are in a far worse state than the Bullas pods and galgos. They desperately need help from other charities to try and get these dogs out. This is the same man that had the 70 galgos and pods that were rescued earlier this year.
Why does an association not take this man to court? Baas Galgo does, in Madrid and Toledo. I can understand the local associations being nervous because this bastard will know where they live, their children, their cars. He and his cronies could target them. But surely there is another association which could take further steps. Surely not all the Seprona and local judges are hunters who buy dogs off this man?
