Starving galga dying on an Almeria beach – safe now with Galgo’s Rescue Almeria
Whatever hell has this poor galga suffered. Thankfully safe now with Galgo’s Rescue Almeria. Here’s what Sandy says.‘Please can you help with donations for her care for this poor girl? Just picked up on an abandoned beach in the sun, over 40, waiting to die. A Spanish girl called us from Almeria, she found her almost dead. She’s terrible skinny, has wounds,…. Tomorrow we’re going to the vet for bloodtest and checkup.
Paypal GRA to Galgosrescuealmeria@gmail.com reference Nico, after the girl who found her. -
Galga Xena at Galgo’s Rescue Almeria
This is a new arrival at the GRA shelter, brought in off the street, ears in a poor state and hard skin all over the bony parts of her body. But a happy soul. She has now been to the vet for a check over, no fever, heart and lungs were fine and she tested negative for Leish / Erlichia / Filaria / Anaplasma. She’s also now chipped and vaccinated, 24 August she will get spayed.
Many thanks to HAA for covering her Veterinary costs.Contact GRA direct if you are interested in adopting a galgo or podenco

PACMA reports – 3 galgos beaten, bagged, dumped in a river and left for dead
From PACMA.
‘Without truce against the abusers, today I tell you that we are going to bring to court who beat up three greyhounds in Seville and then put them in bags of feed, which he tied and threw into a river.
Two of the dogs died, but one of them managed to get out of the bag through an opening, and save himself.
It is chilling and the suffering suffered by these animals is unimaginable.
Gabi, the surviving greyhound rescued by the El Amparo del Sur Association, recovers in a house where he receives the affection and care he never had, and will never be mistreated again.

Galgo’s Rescue Almeria – small shelter saving the galgos and podencos
‘GRA is active for 3 years now. After many disappointments and deception by false prophets who pretend to be animal lovers with the motto: “everything for the dogs” while their real motives are: “everything for our own benefit and profit”, we are now surrounded by the right people with the right intentions and we can give many dogs a new and better life.
But to save dogs and provide them with the necessary care and medical treatment to adopt them, money is needed, a lot of money.
As a small shelter it’s a daily struggle to survive and we depend on donations.
