Volunteering at Pepis Dog Refuge – a story
Pepis Dog Refuge has over 26 galgos, including two bitches who arrived in the late stages of pregnancy. Monique has given birth to 9 puppies, Scarlet is at this moment birthing! Here’s a lovely story about one Volunteer who recently spent time helping Jane and Alan at the Refuge. If you would like to volunteer, contact them through the website.

Hi all friends of Pepi`s Refuge!
I want to share my trip to Pepi`s cause for me it was something huge!
Most of all i want to thank you Jane and Alan. So humble and big hearted people! They told me stories about the dogs. Stories about hopelesses and sadnesses which have turned up to happies and forever love.

Stunning Young Galgo in UK waiting for his forever home
This beautiful boy is Reilly. As a small puppy, he was left tied by a piece of wire to the gate of Pepis Dog Refuge two years ago and named Phantom because one half of his face is white and one half brown. He was a playmate with my boy Polar, they were pups together. Adopted in the UK and renamed Reilly, sadly due to circumstances beyond his control, he is now in foster in England and waiting for a forever family again.
He is 2 years old, full Pet Passport, no hangups, perfect with other dogs, ready to slot straight into another home.
If you have room for him in your home and your heart, here’s the contact.

Annie’s Story – ACTIN in action again
Not a galgo but another of the maltreated hunting dogs of Spain. As you read this story, with a happy ending, know that what happened to Annie happens to dozens of galgos and podencos every year. Another despicable way the hunters dispose of their dogs.

Greyhound Racing Australia – the truth
no words strong enough to express my feelings about this!
Schweppes Australia have come out of sponsoring greyhound racing there after learning the true horror of what goes on behind the scenes.
