It is now the beginning of July, and still there are galgos and podencos loose and abandoned on the streets of Spain. The refuges and shelters are full to overflowing, foster homes saturated……………
This little podenco is still living on the street in Puebla de Cazalla, being eaten to death by ticks, he will surely now have ehrlichiosis and need to get treatment urgently. And he has a wounded leg, raw to the bone, and even the ticks have got at that.
And he is still on the street. The volunteers in the area are desperate – please can anyone take him in. Contact Silvia who knows more about where he is.
UPDATE 05/07/2010: The podenco is in Madrid and has now been taken in by a volunteer – all praise to her and thank heaven for that. And curses on all the people who walked passed him and ignored his plight – I just don’t understand them.
More pix.

So sad – are there no volunteers there who could just give 30 minutes of their time to help some of the poor doggies? Seeing these pictures makes me so sad 🙁
I wish there was something I could do for this beautiful dog. Has anyone contacted Scooby Rescue? I’m sure they would take this dog in. They rescue Galgo’s and mixed breed dogs. Here is the link..

Hi
Latest report says someone in the area has taken
him in, but it is unconfirmed and I have no other photos.
Terrible to think of Spanish people walking past a
dog in this state, and just doing absolutely bloody nothing!! Gets me so
so so angry!
And yet there are also so many lovely caring
Spanish people who do so much to help these dogs, and I have to believe that one
of them has taken him in. And I try and give them all the support I
can.

Hi
Thank you for caring. Silvia says someone has
picked him up, I am just waiting for her to give me more
information.
Scooby has about 600 dogs to care for, and they
have a food crisis thanks to the stupid Spanish authorities now deciding to ban
chicken carcasses being sent to dog shelters! Please support Scooby by
donating to their food crisis.
Thanks for caring and sharing.

If only people would give dogs a chance they would soon see how their lives would be enriched. They are wonderful animals.
