Jan – needs your help

JangalgoJan is a galgo. He has suffered horrendously. Amongst other injuries, he had a nail in his head. He is about 10 years old. 10 years of living a life of hell as a Spanish galgo.

He has been save by the association Degalgos. They are a small association, the volunteers pay for everything from their own pockets.

Jan needs help, as he is in specialist neuro care, which will cost thousands of euros. Degalgos never usually ask for help, but this time they are asking for economic help to pay for Jan’s care.

You can read about Jan and the other dogs which suffered with him on GalgoMania

It is in English as well as Spanish.

Degalgos are so worried about him. He isn’t ready to be rehomed at the moment. When adopted, he will need a special carer, a house without stairs and a small garden to just basque in the sun, as he hasn’t lots of energy.

He is calm and loving, even after what he must have suffered. He is still suffering in pain, but is on a new drug to ease it.

If anyone can offer Jan a forever home to spend the rest of his days, please contact Degalgos direct. Details below.

Degalgos is the association which rescued Reina.

What an horrific story – that poor Galgo! I do so hope that he makes a full recovery and finds a loving home soon. Too far away to offer him a home, but have sent a donation to help with his medical treatment.

    Hi Jenny
Thank you and thank you, on behalf of Jan and the volunteers, for sending them a donation towards his treatment. Isn’t it horrendous, the cruelty which is perpetrated on dogs, and especially the galgos at the end of the hunting season.
And thank you for supporting Galgo News, I hope you tell as many people as possible about the information and news posted here. So many dogs and so many people need help, and really appreciate anything which is sent their way.
I hope you mentioned Galgo News when you sent your donation. Not important, but it helps me with raising the profile of Galgo News.
    Keep reading and supporting
    and thank you again
    Beryl

I certainly did mention Galgo News Beryl – infact I asked them to keep me updated on Jan via GN! I really would like to know how this poor boy gets on.
