Charl del Rio reports on the lastest atrocities in Spain: Yesterday this case reached me from a friend in assoc ciudad animal, yet again the galgos suffer and the help comes too late. In Mota del Cuervo – Cuenca, Castilla la Mancha, a friend of mine was called since the police had been notified regarding robberies – what they found in the derelict building was horrific.
Galgos hung, cans of fuel, and the galgos eventually fallen from their horrific death to the floor to rot. They were approximately a year old, and male.
One had a chip and a denuncia placed, however the “owner” of the chipped galgo was no longer at the address, so as it is “just a dog” the case has been left. The way the body has been decomposing its probably been there around 4 months. So.. just as the season ended the galgos met their end.
Let us make sure the deaths of these galgos was not in vain. They live on because we fight for them, and we MUST find a way to free these dogs of this horrific title “hunting dog” and make it “pet” … the more that are adopted the more will be seen as pets.
The video is hard to watch. The association feels hurt, helpless, and they are overwhelmed with galgos.
The numbers cannot be published for their own security, as people would steal the galgos, there’s no doubt about that! 50 galgos at a time coming in from galgueros, it’s a disgrace, and the associations get NO recognition for what they do.
Please don’t shy away from looking at the video just because it will be difficult to watch. The galgos didnt get the choice to shy away… it pains me to think of them and their ending and the thousands more.
Look at the videos and you will see for sure the lives the galgos lead and how they are left to end their lives .. their only crime having been born ‘a galgo’ a year earlier – shame on you galguero.
