Thank you to everyone who has sent my beautiful galga Karmel and myself messages of hope and prayer.
Herewith latest update:
Update 21/07
Karmel was much better today, but then, she had 3 days of anti-inflammatories in her system. I telephoned my vet and reported.
She telephoned this afternoon and said she had finally managed to speak to the vet in La Rochelle to discuss the case.
She had also spoken to the laboratory who said that, since Karmel had not had an anti-inflammatory tablet today, the earliest she could have a biopsy is Friday this week, with my vet.
So that is what I have booked. And the specialist vet is now out of the picture. After telling me on Thursday afternoon that he would discuss Karmel’s case with my vet last Friday, and not actually doing anything about contacting her atall, ’nuff said, I think?
So, please, everyone, keep your fingers crossed that Karmel does not deteriorate too much between now and Friday morning, when she goes in for the biopsy.
Suggestions so far are demodetic mange, leishmania (she tested negative last year, but can it come back?), uncinaria (dogs last wormed on 11/07/08). Reading symptoms on the internet, certainly some of them fit Karmel’s symptoms.
I am enormously appreciative of everyone’s input. Thank you all for your care about a poor galga rescued from the horrors of Spanish life.
