12 more galgos escaping the horrors of life in Spain

With the help of volunteers in Spain, Passion Levriers carried out another galgo rescue last weekend, Charles Michael Frinzel reports.

“Well, once more I set off with gladness to think another 12 lucky galgos/greys and all sorts would find a better life here in France. As usual I stayed with Virginie at Hasparren, who makes us very welcome.

“We talked on late into the night, only to be leaving on our way to Irun at 7am to meet the Spanish volunteers, who had been driving all night from Guareña, near the Portuguese border, in Extremadura.

“This time though, it all rather fell out of bed, as they were nearly 3 hours late at Irun, and so all the others waiting further up the line had to sit tight at their rendezvous points till we could get to them.

“Four dogs went off with Jean Marc and Isabel to be adopted around Pau and the others came with me up to Poitiers for adoption around Paris and points north.

“A good rescue and the dogs were in great condition all things considered.”
