A Curse on Spanish Galguerros

Damn and Blast the Spanish Galguerros to Hell

Why?

Because they caused my beautiful innocent loving affectionate galga to die. No matter what I and my vet did, she suffered, because of the damned galguerro.

Why?

Because she was born in Spain, under uncontrolled indiscriminate breeding by a Spanish galguerro. He didn’t care what he was breeding, he just wanted to breed galgos….whether he bred from healthy bitches or not……………he didn’t give a damn. He’d get rid of the dog anyway, abandon it, drop it down a well, burn it alive, hang it from a tree ……he didn’t care.

But my beautiful galga carried the gene for pemphigus foliaceous……….and she also had dormant ehrlichiosia, although her tests when she came out of Spain said ‘negative’. And a month later, in France, the blood tests said ‘negative’. But she carried the disease and, in the end, it killed her. Just as if the damned Spanish galguerro had abandoned her, as he did.

And out of the 18 months during which I cared for and loved my beautiful Karmel, she was ill. She lost weight. We got her weight up again – it took 2 months. And then she want lame. And then sores broke out on her body and her feet. And we had to consider a disease to treat by antibiotics; and then, it being April, we had to treat her for an allergy. And all the time it was this damned ehrlichiosis and pemphigus foliaceous creeping through her body.

Damn and blast the galguerro who bred from the bitch which passed on the pemphigus and damn and blast the galguerro who bred from Karmel, who has quite likely passed the pemphigus gene onto one of her puppies.

There are different types of suffering. Hanging from trees, starving to death, burning alive…………… but Karmel – even though at times she appeared a very happy galga – was still suffering ill health, because of the indiscriminate, couldn’t-care-less attitude of the damned galguerro who owned her.

Damn and blast the Spanish galguerros.

One day there will be a law to control the breeding of galgos in Spain, and to control their living conditions, and control what happens to the galgos at the end of the hunting season. One day.

And one day the galguerros will pay for what they are doing to these innocent affectionate dogs.

There are enough of us, if we all join together in one voice, to make an impact.

Join me through Galgo News to make one VERY BIG co-ordinated effort to attack the galguerros and the Spanish councils who condone – and whose members very often are also galguerros – what happens every year to the galgos.

Damn and blast the Spanish galguerros.
