Isabel from the ASPAP shelter has sent an update on Cristal’s condition.
‘Well, I’m sending you photos of Cristal with her 2 friends, Wican and Grison, just looking round the door. When we enter into the fenced area where they live, they go into their house and continue to look round the corner of their door, the 3 heads together. When we hold out our hand to stoke her, they smell us and lick our hands, but the 3 are the same in their fear.
They allow you come close, slowly but surely, bit by bit. Cristal, in her small house, will let you stroke her a bit better, but she does not move from fear. If she is out, she will wag her tail, but will not come to us when we call her. She will only let us stroke her when she is in her house. But, wellm, slowly, slowly.
As you can see, each day she has more fur and is more beautiful. She is still missing most fur and has just the skin underneath her paws and part of her bottom, but the remainder is almost cured. I’ve just taken a first shot of her eyes when she was about to lick my hand, you can see how spectacular they are.
I will keep you informed with news, and thank you very much for helping Cristal.’ Isabel.
I recently held a fundraising bbq at my home, and half of the funds were sent to ASPAP to help pay the veterinary bills, the other half was sent to help pay for the care of Gisela.
Cristal will be looking for a forever home, when Isabel is happy that she is ready to leave the refuge.
In the meantime, pray that the gypsies do not break in and steal her.
