Scooby Medina appeals – give these long term residents a chance – adopt a dog

An appeal from Scooby Medina for dogs which have been in their shelters for nearly 2 years, and no one wants them. There’s even a pedigree cocker spaniel! Please take time to read the email and details about the dogs, and help find them homes. Scooby have over 600 – yes 600 – dogs in their care!

Hi Everyone,

Here is my regular “plea” / call for attention to long time Scooby dogs. This time is a little different, because these dogs are ones that I have not had any requests for and/or ones that arrived at Scooby in 2008 or earlier. Considering it’s almost 2010, we need to find these dogs a home as soon as possible. Some of them are older, some of them are younger – but one thing is the same for all of them, they have been here too long and we can’t forget about them.

Most of them are a mixes and just a few galgos, please take some time to view their full profile on the adoption pages. If you are interested in any of them, please let me know and I will get an update for you. Remember, if they have two stars for example in their profile, there is a good chance that they are better now, but we just haven’t had the chance to update the profile.

Please forward to your friends, family, potential adopters, current adopters or anyone you think that would be interested and be a good home for these dogs. You never know when someone will fall in love with a dog at an unexpected moment. Let’s use the power of the internet to get exposure for these great dogs who have stood the test of time in the shelter… now they deserve the life they should have had when they were born.

Here they are:

Remember these are dogs that have been at Scooby since 2008 or earlier and/or they have not be requested at all for adoption :

Basu (galgo)- he has some new photos and is a very nice boy.

Blanco (galgo mix) – he is in Laguna and he is forgotten. He is a galgo mix but absolutely wonderful. Some of you might remember a white timid galgo mix “Simone” who was on the adoption pages a few years ago – she was his sister and she is adopted in France. I would love to see the same for Blanco

Blas – poor Blas. also forgotten and getting fat. he needs a home to balance out his feeding schedule and him

Bora – Bora is active, very active. In fact it was impossible for me to get a photo of her. I don’t know how we got these because she likes to move 😉 so she would be great in a country home where she can run and be happy with her family.

Ciro (galgo – pictures at end) – this boy is so sweet and gentle. I can’t believe he is still available with three stars for everything and still young.

Claudio – he has been at the shelter for so long that he still has an old profile document on my computer – that is from a long time ago. You can see from his description that he is a good dog, but he is a shelter dog and that is how he is acting. He has to in order to survive like this for so long. He needs a home where there is structure and balance.

Dana – she is so nice. i remember i saw her when she arrived in Nov 2008 and she was living with Elvira – who now has a great home in the US. It would be great for Dana to also have a home to call her our. She is really pretty and big!

Elo – Okay everyone, he arrived in 2006!!!!!! I think that is enough said there. He should not be still at Scooby. Yes he is active and maybe a little crazy, but that is in his DNA – we are all a little crazy aren’t we 😉

Felipa – She is old… born in 1996, it would be nice for her to retire on a couch in a home

Floret – Well, it doesn’t help that she doesn’t have many stars in her profile, but she arrived in 2008 and we are soon approaching 2010. I am sure that there is a special person who can make her a true star.

Isaac – active dog, but very nice. arrived in 2008.

Lino – arrived in 2008. he is so beautiful with that peak on his face. Still young and active

Lolo – this poor boy arrived in 2008 and is still at Scooby. He has the most amazing ears, how could you resist him!

Luci – also arrived in 2008. She is still patiently waiting.

Luna – arrived 2008, nice mix female who is social and nice with other dogs.

Matilde – there is a request for her to come to the US, but I don’t know when we will be able to bring her. So if there is an option for adoption sooner than that, we are willing to do it. She is a very nice loving and friendly girl with no problems. Arrived in 2008

Moreno (galgo) – I am adding Moreno to this list, even though he only arrived in Jan 2009, but he is so nice – two stars for everything, he is on the border of being perfect.

Pancho – 2007! Oh my. He is getting fatter and needs to be put on a diet. This is impossible at Scooby, so he needs one of us to find that family who will make sure he learns portion control 😉 He is a great dog. We don’t think he would be okay with cats, but we can do that test again to be sure… actually, he is probably too fat to catch a cat at the moment.

Pirata – she looks sad in her photos, but as you can see she is pretty okay. Such a sweet face.

Puyol – lives in the garden and I am sure for those of you who have been to Scooby, you have been greeted by this lovely boy.

Ramona – sweet little girl with a great personality

Reke – arrived in 2008 and is born in 2001. He is getting old and needs a quite home.

Roberta – this sweet girl is so great in the paddock. doesn’t make a sound and is great with the other dogs. The sad thing is that her ears are taking the brunt of living in a shelter. When she arrived at Scooby, she had long ears.. as you can see now, they are significantly shorter. We hope that she won’t be at the shelter for much longer, otherwise she might end up looking like a doberman with cropped ears 😉 But seriously, she would be a wonderful companion for a quiet family or perhaps a retired couple/person.

San Martin – nice dog, perfect profile.

Sofi – nice dog, perfect profile.

Thelma (and Wallace) – both arrived at the same time. I think they are from the same litter. They live together and are quite nice together. They don’t need to be adopted together, but hey! Two is better than one!

Thor – Has already spent on Christmas at the shelter, let not make it two. He has three stars for everything and is still fairly young.

Tras – 2007!!!!! She needs a home badly. Please someone be her angel for a forever home. (pictures at end)

Vagabundo – (pictures at end) people pay so much for pure bred dogs like cocker spaniels and here we have a pure cocker spaniel and no one wants him. how sad for him waiting for a home.

Zizou – named after the famous football player… he is now living in the perimeter of the shelter guarding all of these precious dogs living in the paddocks. He is a beautiful dog and should be gracing the presence of your home so everyone can see his beauty 😉

If you made it to bottom of this list, we thank you and so do the dogs!
If you have any questions, please email us at info@scoobymedina.com

Many thanks!
