I’d just like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who reads Galgo News, comments on posts, and joins in the letter writing and petition signing posts which I highlight. Whilst my aim is to highlight the plight of the galgos and podencos, I get emails appealing for help to highlight the stray/abandoned dog problem in other countries which have now joined the EU.
So this is a petition to sign to help one of those countries.
So please add your name to this petition, forward it to family and friends. Together we will be a European canine family fighting for the innocents.
The problem is
1. breeders, who breed dogs – for whatever reasons, they continue to breed dogs, contributing to the stray dog/abandoned dog problemn in every country
2. lack of sterilization/castration programmes by individual governments, to help solve the problem
3. governments and local authorities who will just not accept that they have to do something to stop the stray/abandoned dog problem.
4. The European Commission who take for ever and a day to implement the laws which already exist to stop this; yet if their salaries and expense claims were up for reducing, they’d be very quick to act! Men in grey suits!
There is no greater gift than that of the love of a dog – it is unconditional, for ever, loyal ……………whatever cruelty is inflicted upon it, it still comes back with love to give.
I curse once again the people who do not appreciate this. They do not deserve to live on this planet, or any other!
And the good thing about my blog is that I can say this, and I am sure that most of my readers will agree with me, and that numbers thousands!
