The volunteers in Spain never cease to amaze me with their devotion and courage to taking abandoned dogs off the streets, especially galgos. GN friend Tina Solera was doing the school run last week and came across two more galgos wandering loose. Luckily for her, they were not too frightened to be persuaded into her car, and they are now at Los Infiernos refuge, where a special enclosure has been created just for galgos.
The two dogs have been named Romeo and Rodolfo.
Romeo is approx 2 1/2 years and is super confident, tall, strong and very very cuddly and loving. Everyone that sees him comments that he is something a bit special the photo doesnt do him justice as you cannot see his strength and height. We call him Romeo as he is a smoothy with the ladies but we also call him The King as he is quite the leader.
Rodolfo is approx 3 yrs and goes to the vet Monday. He doesn’t have the same confidence as Romeo but is not too far behind, he’s watching and learning, they are good friends. He is a podenco/galgo cross with a wirey coat. he is very beautiful and will make a lovely pet.
For more information about the dogs, especially to adopt one, contact Tina direct.

Nice that at lest some of Spain’s animals are garnering positive attention. Hope these great examples of canine companions gain a family… Now if we could only get bull-fighting relegated to virtual software vice the abusive arena!
Hi, both Romeo and Rodolfo are now castrated thanks to the generous donations we recieved. If anybody would like to adopt please get in touch. Thanks.
