Hallo, there is great anger in Spain about this – rage and shame. Here is a report from the press http://www.publico.es/449251/denuncian-que-metro-de-madrid-dejo-morir-a-una-perra-perdida-durante-varios-dias-en-los-tuneles
Here it is translated (by Google translate and I haven’t checked it.)
Here is a video of the protests: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VflS1aGsCIM
The translation link won’t post, but you can translate it using Google or Babelfish. The metro authorities wouldn’t allow the rescue associations to go and rescue her; after several days two rescuers, including a lad from Baas Galgo, jumped down without permisssion after a driver reported seeing her, but she’d lost part of one hind leg and was dead. It looks as though the metro will be prosecuted for cruelty.
In Barcelona, when the same thing happened, the trains were stopped, but Catalonia’s very different.
Jen, the reason no-one could rescue this galga is because they refused to stop the trains! I saw this story circulated on FB and was appalled at the inhumanity of the Madrid Metro company. This dog could have been saved.
well i dont mean to sound awful about this because them rescues out there are unsung heros but the 2 people who jumped on to the track without permission should of done that in the first place and as for the metro authorities the one person responsible for refusing the rescues down on the track wants to rot in hell just no need for what as happened why do they torture and kill this beutiful breed in what ever way possible got their own way once again even if they get prosecuted its to late she suffered and lost her life they are just pure evil in my eyes
As I understand it, people wanted to get her, get the trains stopped but they weren’t allowed, I think the Guardia were called. But again, as you say, how the hell did the poor dog get down there? Thanks to Kate for the translation on a later comment.
