Here is the latest newsletter from the Greyhound Initiative linked with Dr Guillermo Couto, who has done extensive research into galgos as well as greyhounds. On the subject of the greyhound with the allergy to dust mites etc in the house, we have tiled floors in our home in France and I would never ever return to living in a house with wall to wall carpeting, as we had in the UK. I have pads on the tiled floors which the dogs can sleep on, and vetbed, all of which can be washed regularly to get rid of the dust.
When we moved to France, my horse developed an allergy to dust mites – in the hay, stone stables,
bedding. I purchased a nebulizer to give him treatment – he was such a good boy standing with the equipment on – but in the end we moved house to a farm with over 6 hectares where he can live outside.
What we do for our pets, eh!
