Galga Estrela from Portugal – sad news

RIP Pawprints poem 400
Several years ago I worked with Teresa and Ines Canavarro with the rescue and rehoming of a family of galgos in Portugal who were forced to live in horrendous conditions. Estrela came to me in foster and went to the UK to a forever home. Duke also went into foster and was rehomed.

Alison, who adopted Estrela, wrote to me recently with the sad news that Estrela had finally crossed the rainbow bridge. Here’s what Alison said. ‘I am writing to you to let you know the sad news that our Portuguese Princess has left us.
I had to make the decision to have her pts. She seemed to have lost her will to live, she was elderly and did not suffer. She has had the life of royalty for the seven years she was here.’

Estrela recovered well from her terrible treatment at the hands of the galguero and his wife and would have been in her teens.
Thank you Alison for giving her such a wonderful life.

RIP sweet galga.
