‘Preziosa (Precious) has arrived directly from a galguero, very scared, skinny, her body covered in wounds old and new, and hungry. So scared she had to be carried from crate to crate. In fact we had to carry her in the crate to the house. My intention was to bring her into the bedroom with me, but decided to leave her in the crate overnight where she felt safe.
She had some raw chicken for dinner which she loved, and even took some from my hand. Then shortly after she had some rice and fresh vegetables, she loved that also. After maybe half an hour or so her body language began to change, she softened her outline and stretched out. Then she curled up and went to sleep. She’s 5 years old, and very sweet natured, even when scared she’s submissive rather than aggressive. She will make a lovely loyal pet I’m sure.

Welcome to the beginning of your new life Precious
I named you Precious because that’s what you are from now on.
Living with a galguero has not been easy I know, but from today we look forward to building your confidence and introducing you to new friends and people who will love you. People who will share your posts and through them we promise you we find you the loving home you so deserve.
On your journey you will discover new things that you will not have seen before but we will be beside you, to guide you, and help you understand the outside world. You don’t know what a comfy bed is, or a sofa, but I’m sure you will get used to these things. The other galgos will teach you that not all humans are bad, and that you are safe. And have the freedom to go outside to play when you want, eat when you want, and sleep peacefully
When I first saw you your tail was tucked under and your eyes closed. I felt your fear but sweetheart you can leave all that behind now. We will find you a loving home.’
