Let’s hope the nightmare of 2020 and the virus will not be repeated in 2021 and that we may soon return to ‘normality’. For our beloved hounds, nothing much has changed. Some dogs were adopted to help people through isolation, hopefully they will stay there for their natural lives, knowing comfort, a full belly and lots of love.
Thank you for reading my blog and for supporting the appeals for help which I receive from shelters and associations. It still saddens me and makes me angry over the attitude of the hunters that their dogs are simply tools to be disposed of when they are no longer of use.
We must keep working on the Spanish government to bring in laws to control the mass breeding of hunting dogs; a difficult task when so many of them are hunters.
However, we can take comfort in knowing that for every hound which is rescued and adopted, the life of that dog is changed forever and it will return its love one hundred fold for its adopter.
Keep safe and well in 2021.
