Galgos don’t tend to end up crammed in the meat truck cages en rout for the slaughterhouse in China. But many greyhounds do. Candys Hound International Rescue is a UK based rescue which works tirelessly with a couple of shelters in China to rescue greyhounds bound for killing for meat and brings them to Europe and the UK for foster and rehoming.
The hunters of Spain are well known for their maltreatment of their hunting dogs – galgos, podencos and more – but I thought readers would be interested to see what goes on in China, where the dogs are killed to be eaten.
