Yet another heartless bastard galguero…this poor galgo being dragged by its owner in Seville perrera, peeing on the floor the entire way, so scared. What did you do to displease your owner poor Galgo? Maybe you did nothing wrong but there is just no room for you anymore. You are innocent, you are loyal but it does not matter.
While we rightfully focus on the horrid cases of abuse and abandonment that fill the pages on the internet and their rescue, especially at this time of year, sadly the stark reality is that the vast, vast majority of Galgos and Podencos find this as their final fate. If they are not taken care of by the hand of their owner they will be dropped off, or in this case dragged, in to a perrera where most will find the needle as the final reward for their innocence.
The tip of the iceberg that we all see is tragically overwhelmed by the realities of the part underneath the surface.

Cobie of Scooby Valladolid is helping care for 3 tiny galga puppies dumped in a trash bin, 4 weeks old. Here’s what she says.
‘We can´t even imagine having a litter of galgos from 4 weeks old and one morning, you take an empty box, put in there three of these tiny little girls, 4 week old puppies, take them to your car, drive to a public dirtbin and leave the box with its precious content in it…! What will happen to them when a few hours later the counciltruck comes by to empty the bin…!! Happily somebody heard them cry and took them to the perrera where Scooby took them right away to bring them in safety…Please God, come down to see for yourself which monsters are among your creatures…!!’

Apartment to let in Spain – starving galgos now removed!
Story just in on my Save the Galgo facebook page…the pictures are a fb video so sorry I can’t share. But suffice to say that the 3 galgos are 2 black and one white, very thin. The balcony is a long narrow one with a tiled floor. The top of the wall up to the next balcony is blocked in so at least they have not been able to jump over it and either badly injure or kill themselves. Here is the google translation.

Clearly this is another case where the Guardia Civil/Seprona need to pursue the owner/occupier of the apartment and prosecute in court for animal cruelty. Roll on the day that all of them know exactly what laws they can use, and their powers, just as DeAnimals are doing in Murcia.
