For now we have food and water, but it would be necessary to find a foster home where she can recover little by little. She has a noble character, friendly and confident, not scared or running from people. Please, has anyone a little space for this galguilla for two or three weeks, please avisadnos, together we can change the future. Thank you very much for your attention. Regards. • Starving, underweight, sick, just rescued in Murcia – can you help?

Marie 1 Tina 29 03 2011 250 Latest guest of Galgos del Sol. Tina says ‘Marie was caught on the streets of Torre Pacheco. This is a town full of abandoned galgos where I am trying to catch Lorenzo. When I got the call i thought it might have been him they caught! It was Antonio who called me to see if we could take her so I said yes. She is injured, extremely underweight which you can’t appreciate in the photos and frightened. She will go to the vets at 5.30pm. We already know NO microchip. (UPDATE 30/03/2011 – she has not been vaccinated as she is too thin, blood test done and sent for analysis)

If anyone can donate to vet fees, visit GdS website. To donate food, click on the Bettys Original logo on the right of the homepage.

  • Spanish galgo Ruso, injured but saved from euthanasia, rehomed in USA

Ruso with forever family 22 03 2011 210 This is Ruso with his forever family in America. Ruso was discovered in Los Infiernos refuge in Murcia by Tina, a volunteer. Unbeknowst to her, he had lain for four or five days severely injured and in great pain, unable to stand, feed himself……..as soon as Tina discovered him, she took him out of the refuge, where the owners were intending to kill him, and through contact with Silvia in Valencia, he was transported to her centre for treatment by her vet and rehabilitation by Silvia. What a fantastic story, thanks to everyone involved, including Tina who prevented Los Infiernos from killing him, Silvia and her vet for his rehabilitation,to Greyt Friends, Inc., in Marietta GA who travelled to Spain to bring Ruso to the United States and fostered him until he was ready to move to his new home in Colorado and also GRIN. A happy ending for one deserving survivor of the annual massacre.
