This beauty is Roma, a gentle galga, as they all are, who was found abandoned and injured in Cuenca, probably a victim of a road accident. Barbara LeFranc of Le Bulletin des Levriers tells her story.
‘As we all know, in Spain there are many injured and dead dogs by the roadside, victims of road traffic accidents, where most people treat them as they would a gnat squashed on their windscreen. This is known around the world.
Roma was lucky to be found by Sonia, a volunteer sensitive to the plight of the galgos, who rescued her and took her to the veterinary clinic, where Roma was diagnosed with a dislocated elbow and a severe leg abrasion which left the bone exposed. Emergency operation and treatment were carried out to prevent infection in the wound.
As you can imagine, the veterinary bill is big and there will be more expense to prepared Roma’s EU passport and sterilization before she can be repatriated to us in France.

Thank you on behalf of Roma.
