Galgos Rocky and Marlo – from Jerez killing station to forever in the USA!

GRIN Rocky & Marlo in US 04 2011 250 Here’s a lovely rehoming story – it’s amazing how rescued galgos cope with so many changes in their lives – different languages as they change countries, travelling hundreds of kilometres to new lives, flying across the Atlantic, then flying on again, across America!

Introducing Rocky and Marlo, rescued from Jerez killing station, cared for by Galgos Connection Spain, rehomed in the US.

Telma Shaw of GRIN says, ‘Here is the first picture of Rocky and Marlo, the Jerez boys that just arrived in the USA!!

Everything went like clockwork UNTIL an 88 year old woman had a heart attack on the plane with the boys in the cargo area and they had to make an emergency landing in the Azores! Well that was an extra three hours for the boys :L but, they did fine and arrived happy and are doing great right now. Again, GRIN and Greyt Friends of Georgia worked together to make this happen before the airline summer restrictions start May 15th.

Marlo will fly out again on Monday for the second part of his trip to Denver into his forever home and our Rocky will be fostered by Kay Renfroe the lady who flew to Madrid just to pick them up and come back the next day! She is the lady who also picked up Angie and Ruso..

OK all is well..I am very happy to have been a part of this international rescue!

Thanks go out to Silvia the boys first rescuer, Olga and Vicente who drove the boys from Valencia to Madrid, to Kay and Dee Hansen who helped plan the airlines passes and packing of donations and to GRIN for the support to help the boys get here..so that they now have a chance at a wonderful life..what a good day it has been.’
