This is the harsh reality for dogs dumped in the municipal and private perreras – killing stations. It’s any dog which suffers like this, not just the galgos. But for the galgos, it’s simply that hunting is drawing to a close and the galgueros are dumping their dogs. These dogs are/were in the perrera El Paraiso at Malaga (some have already been killed). Toledo, hell for galgos – left injured in an irrigation channel – Baas Galgo again
Toledo, another Spanish hell for galgos. We’ve already had galgos – yes, there was more than one – in a deep gorge from which they could not escape, other than starvation and death. Now we have one in a drainage channel, with a broken leg. Some of you might say ‘well the galgos could have run into the gorge, and the drainage channel’. Those involved in their rescue have their doubts. And they are on the ground, to assess.
Here’s yet another galgo in Toledo who was left, injured, where starvation and a painful death were his only options – if he hadn’t been spotted by someone sympathetic to animals.

Toledo, trash on the streets – Baas Galgo to the rescue!
Last year there was Esperanza, a galga starved, beaten badly, chucked for dead in a rubbish skip in Spain. Rescued as she breathed her last, she was saved from the dead and finally, after nearly a year of treatment and rehabilitation, she even walks unaided – not very steadily, but still, she walks unaided. Two fingers to the bastard hunter who did that to her!
Now we have another,left for dead with the trash on a street in Toledo. People walked by whilst this galgo was unable to stand, walk, badly beaten, chucked out with the trash. Don’t tell me there is a God! No God makes the innocents suffer like this. Only the sick bastards (in this case Spanish, but could be anywhere in the world) who do this to innocent animals. Baas Galgo has saved him.

Cadiz – 2 month old galgo puppy away from its mother – urgent help needed
This galgo puppy is 2 months old, and away from its mother, in Cadiz. An association needs to get it urgently. If anyone can take it, please email the man who has it. Or the lady who sent the appeal lomadelperro@yahoo.com 31/12 now been told it has been saved and is safe.
And a note for associations with galgo puppies for adoption. There is a lady in France who wants to adopt a galgo puppy to breed lurchers. Please take every precaution if you get an application from an Englishwoman wanting a galgo puppy. Email me for more information.

More abandoned Cordoba galgas and a lame puppy
Cordoba again, yet another galga and puppies. Here’s the report from El Arca de Noe Cordoba.
’23 Dec. I was driving along a road going to a store on an industrial estate when a galga crossed my path, her teats were very swollen. I had to brake hard so as not to hit her. She ran into the rough ground on the industrial estate, and I then saw she was not alone, there was another galga with her, and a puppy – the puppy is lame.

Seville galguera threatens disposal of her galgas – any room for them?
Appeal from Seville, a Galguera (female hunter) wants to get rid of these two young galgas, as they are no good for hunting?! Doesn’t look like they have had a decent meal in a while! They are two years old, have their vaccines and cards (EU passport). Not much time left to save them before she takes them to the perrera.

Last chance for Toledo galgos on death row
These galgos are in the Toledo perrera and the association has been told it is the last time they will be allowed in there. In 3 months they have managed to take our more than 100 dogs, with the help of the protectoras and individuals who have made this possible. These are the galgos currently there, mostly young ones.

‘Last weekend (weekend before Xmas) our Baasgalgo rescue team found a massive galgo graveyard. They have been digging all day and finally found 8 murdered galgos.
I cannot give you any more information since the case is now denounced.When Leticia came back and looked on our facebook page, she saw there was a girl called Selene asking for help…a galga was thrown into a gully around 800 meters deep.
