Scooby – saving souls in Spain
This week Scooby added 3 more galgos to the hundreds they have waiting for forever homes. Here’s what Cobie writes.
‘Cobie Steketee
So, at last all the surviving dogs from the shit hole perrera from Mairena have been taken out of that hell. From what I understand it was a big chaos, somebody opened doors from cages and with an open gate at that time, some 30 dogs escaped, it seems that still some galgos are running free there in the neighbourhood.

Accommodation in Valladolid – here’s the best place
This teeny weeny galgo puppy, only 6 weeks old was found abandoned in Valladolid. He, it´s a little boy, was totally alone in a filthy barn, full of shit and other garbage, no food and no water, very skinny and hungry as a horse, covered in fleas and without a clean place or a soft blanket to sleep on. Now he is in the Scooby Valladolid Residencia and if he survives, Cobie and team will try to help him grow into a big, strong healthy and happy sofa galgo! Unbelievable – how he came to be there. Thank goodness he is safe!

New Galgos in Scooby Valladolid – adopt a galgo
These lovely galgos are with Scooby Residencia Valladolid, hoping to find forever homes. These 2 beauties were rescued at the beginning of the week by Scooby from the perrera provincial in Valladolid. Taken there by their owner because they were not good for hunting, he said. It´s the same old song from the hunters, but happily these two are very good for sofa dogs. They are 2 boys, gorgeous, very sweet, not afraid. Lima has the white face and chest, Gustavo is the other one. Will make wonderful pets.
This is Tigressa. She’s an older girl, 7 years old, and been used as a breeding machine. She’s kind and gentle and has a lot of love to give. Towards the end of the video you can hear Cobie describing her character.
And this is Cali, a young galgo mix, under 2 years old. He was rescued from the campo, very afraid. You can see his is still nervous of people but gains in confidence and trust every day.
If you can offer any of these beauties a forever home, please contact Scooby.

Galgo Manolo in Valladolid – Scooby looks for a family for him
Not all galgueros are complete bastards – like the one who deliberately left galga Gala with two broken legs out in the campo in Andalucia – to starve to death in great pain. Manolo was left with Scooby Residencia Valladolid. Here Cobie tells his tale.
MANOLO was left behind in the residencia because he was ‘no good for hunting’, said the galguero. I´m sure the galguero was no good for the dog because every galgo is a champion! Manolo is very lucky because now he can start a better and happy life with a caring family who will love him dearly because he is young, 2 and a half years old, very handsome, playful, super sweet and nice, has no fear and loves all other dogs and, even more, loves people. For adoption, contact Scooby

Scooby visits Cuenca, Madrid and Valladolid – dozens of galgos given the chance of life!
Is anyone counting how many galgos have been saved by Scooby? Thee are over 600 animals at their centre in Medina del Campo, plus dozens more at the kennels in Valladolid. And now the Scooby team have been helping Pilar at Cuenca – too many galgos for the space there – read the amazing story of the saving of over 40 galgos and a podenco.
Please remember Scooby this Christmas – the team won’t have a day off – the dogs need cleaning and feeding and exercising, medication etc. And if you are kind enough to donate to them, please don’t be upset if you don’t get a personal ‘thank you’. Read here. Because the staff are just too busy seeing to the animals! Huh?

Scooby – give Divino a home for Christmas, buy Scooby 2013 calendar
This lucky boy is Divino, now safe with Scooby. Cobie says ‘DIVINO: Another galgo abandoned, hit by a car and then taken to the Valladolid provincial perrera where they wanted him to go and play on the other side of the rainbow bridge. Thanks to Scooby, who took him this morning out of that perrera, this stunning boy is 2 years old and not fearful. Has many years to play on the good side of that bridge for many, many years!! For adoption, contact Scooby.
Also, what about buying a Scooby 2013 calendar or virtually adopting one of their dogs as a Christmas gift to someone. They care for a phenominal number of animals and need all the help they can get.
