  • From a life of Hell in Murcia, Spain – to a live of love in Canada

Viv Charley drops kennel 250 4 2015From Viv Wharton, founder of ACTIN in Murcia.

From the horror they were kept in to utter love and kindness Charlyedrops and Seda, soon to travel to Canada form the loving care of Charlotte del Rio to the loving arms of Sandra Deakin.

We couldn’t rescue from situations like this without the support of other great rescue associations helping by taking the animals for us and your donations and support for the ones we keep in our care until adoption…our work never stops.

Two weeks ago (mid March 2015)we rescued 50 animals from a bad situation and are unable to ask for donations because we cannot report the full story in order to protect people and animals, but the work goes on behind the scenes and we value your help….

    Donate to ACTIN here.

  • 4th April 2013 – Happy Belated Birthday DutchGalgoLobby

Apologies that this news is a little late. I’m currently in the UK for a funeral and flat clearing and have restricted access to a computer.

Happy 2nd Birthday DutchGalgoLobby on 4th April 2013

On April 4th, DutchGalgoLobby celebrates her 2nd birthday. In her relatively short existence, DutchGalgoLobby has achieved quite a lot. Dutch Politics are now well aware of the Galgo mistreatment in Spain and one of the parties even set up a resolution to ask the Dutch government to take action. Regretfully this resolution did not get enough votes to pass because they still think it is an internal Spanish problem, to be solved by Spain. (Subsidiarity principle)

Therefore we approached the European Parliament which is in progress but takes time. European parliament is rather sluggish!

  • Life of Hell for dogs in Cartegena, Murcia – Associations please join in to protect them!

Cartegena 1 250 Galgos in south Africa simialr to what I saw in La MagdalenaThis photo is of greyhounds in South Africa. The same thing is going on in Spain with galgos. I’ve received this report and it absolutely sickens me. The Spanish – probably mainly men – in authority turn a blind eye – their hunter ‘brethren’ can get away with torture and murder – BUT let an animal rescue association try to help the dogs. And then there is Hell to Pay from the authorities! Corrupt bastards! Haven’t we had enough of cronyism?!. The majority of them are men, but a few are women. And that sickens me more – they are probably mothers – they give life to a human – they should treasure the birth of life….but life in an animal means nothing to them. They at times are worse than the men!

Cartagena is apparently one of the worst area in Murcia for cruelty against animals.
