  • Urgent – letters needed to Macau to save the greyhounds

    Received yesterday, 3/4/2012

    ‘Late Friday night, we learned that the Canidrome, China’s only dog track, had agreed to end the killing of greyhounds and institute a an adoption program for ex-racers.

    This news, coming less than five months after the start of our Rescue Brooklyn campaign, was wonderful to hear. The first dogs ever to leave the track alive were to be sent to local animal protection organization ANIMA on Monday morning. Read the announcement here.

  • Greyhounds to China move forward – greys need your help urgently now!

    Please read and act on the important message below from Greyhound Action

    Many people involved in welfare and who are greyhound “owners” have been
    sending emails and letters to the Irish government to oppose the idea of
    sending greyhounds to China, and there have also been demonstrations at
    Irish embassies in several countries. This has had some affect on the
    Department of Agriculture, which very recently received a formal proposal
    from the Irish Greyhound Board to consider the China project.
