Personally, as a Brit, the English football team were a joke. That’s nothing new. We introduced football, cricket, tennis, golf to the world. Whatever we introduce, we then are the losers. Andy Murray put up a good show in tennis, but the footballers – and when you consider what these males are paid????!!! – were pathetic. And why? Because there are so many foreign footballers in the UK football teams that the English team manager can’t find enough decent English players. I could go on further, but I won’t.
Just to say that I support neither Holland nor Spain in the World Cup final. Why? Well, Holland has taken so many rescued galgos to its hearts and homes, but Spain is the home of the galgo, and I could never abandon support – even in the World Cup – for the amazing volunteers who work to rescue, and give shelter to, and rehome abroad, these beautiful innocents who suffer so at the hands of the bastard galgueros.
