  • 14 more Spanish hunting dogs starved and abandoned.

Confiscation of the 14 dogs that form part of the investigated rehala.

Officers found several malnourished animals on the property, with no water, food or any type of identification. More than a dozen were rescued in a state of extreme weakness. The autopsy will allow to check if they were used for hunting activities

The dogs remained locked up in disused farm trailers, with no access to water, food or veterinary care. The deceased specimens were not wearing a microchip or ID collar, which hampered their traceability, while the survivors showed clear symptoms of abandonment and disease, according to the preliminary veterinary report.

  • Galgo Randy – Pro-Galgo needs him to find his forever home

Randy 1 Pro Galgo 10 2010 250 I’ve had a plea from Mo Swatek of Pro Galgo, as the association is desperately searching for a home for this stunning galgo recently rescued. If anyone can adopt him, please get in touch with her urgently. Here’s his story.

RANDY is about 4 years old and was found near a gasstation in the city
of Tarragona, (Catalonya) where no galgo hunting is practiced.
Due to the arrival of loads of travellers in the area, since july we
have rescued in and around Tarragona already 6 galgos, one is still
waiting in the local perrera to come to us but we have 21 dogs here and
it’s impossible to have him until some get adopted.

  • Pro-Galgo urgently need help – please donate

Randy Pro-Galgo 08 2010 300 Does this break your heart or what? To see a beautiful affectionate loving galgo in this state! Luckily Pro-Galgo has come to his rescue. You can read his story and that of another galgo, plus a little Yorkie (whose owner died) on their website.

Pro-Galgo still has 5 of the 28 Jerez galgos in kennels, which costs, and now they have vet bills for these three dogs. They are out of funds. Please, if you can contribute towards any of these costs – 700 euros will cover the fees for microchipping, vaccination, castration – and a dental job on the Yorkie – donate through their website. However small the amount – even £10 or $10 or 10 euros – it will be greatly appreciated.
