Imprisonment for the animals in Spain – the hunter perpetrators get away scot free
Video (on facebook so some of you may not be able to view) made by Peter Koekebakker. No hygiene, no permits! 600 dogs are here from various hunters! Also people who work for the police keep their dogs here! No entry to the bunkers, no control by the municipalities or the police! It’s been twenty years so and it will stay this way with the hunting federations and our White Collar Mafia Mess in Brussels!

More arrivals at Pepis Dog Refuge – galgos, podenco, puppies…never-ending
2 recent arrivals at Pepis Dog Refuge, Pedrera. We have named this beautiful galga we found chained to the Galgo Centre gates late at night Lara. She is doing very well, eating well, a relaxed and happy girl.
This Podenco Ibicenco (below)has been in a major trauma. We take it little step by little step and no matter how long it takes, she will come to us eventually, bless her.
And galga Tara has again been called upon to donate blood to a poor dog found shot on the campo, believed by kids with an air gun. Hoping to save his life.
The monthly food bill for the 80+ dogs is 800 euros, please donate or sponsor a dog so they can feed them all.

A sad story of betrayal – or ‘some people don’t deserve a dog’!
Not about a galgo, but a very sad story nevertheless from Scooby. People never fail to surprise me, how they can abuse the love and loyalty given by a dog.

Spanish Councils and animal cruelty
Isa Bel says:
Spain
shout it out loud! THAT COUNCILS IN SPAIN VIOLATE SYSTEMATICALLY THE LAWS AND ORDINANCES OF ANIMAL PROTECTION. They do not control responsible animal ownership, do not control chips, census, or conditions in which the animals are held. They moreover do not control legal or illegal breeding, do not promote or request sterilisation, do not combat dogfighting business and furthermore do not promote CES for colonies of cats… THEY DON’T CARE FOR ANIMALS.

Mijas animal shelter threatened with closure…contrary Spanish authorities
One of the things that makes me bloody fuming!!! I don’t usually swear but this is one example of what gets me really on fire!!
Read this story about the Mijas animal refuge threatened with closure – read why the authorities want to close it. Then think about the dogs incarcerated in the metal container…..
What the hell is wrong with the authorities that they find it impossible to be consistent?!!
Unfortunately only Spanish nationals with an ID card can sign the petition.

Container dogs in Murcia – – update
20th May update on container dogs from Viv Wharton:-
Sorry I missed posting my update here yesterday. There isnt much more to tell, apart from we know the dogs are still barking and sounds the same. We are talking all the time with our PAES defensa partners (the legal team) working on this; the petition has around 20,000 signatures; some people think we are relying on the petition to get the dogs out, this is not so…we will get them out only through legal chanels – which are the denuncias that have been placed.
