This is a book of photos and stories of happy adopted galgos, at the moment only in Spanish.
Tengo un ángel en casa. Historias de galgos adoptados“
„I have an angel at home. Stories about adopted galgos“
This is a book where galgos are presented in families, where stories are told about what kind of pets galgos are when offered the opportunity to share a home.
In Spain galgos are considered tool-animals, apart from the appalling abandonment rate (more than 50,000 dogs per year) and cruelty practised with them, many people don´t think that galgos can live in a home like other pets, so, on top of everything else, the adoption rate is low.
What the book wants to show is how gentle, affectionate, sensitive, calm dogs galgos really are. With the cooperation of 2 organisations (www.sosgalgos.com, http://vip-off-courses.org) adoptants were contacted and many of them sent their stories and photos, everyone told what he/she wanted about his/her dog, sad stories or funny anecdotes.
The past of all these dogs is sad, so of course it is present in the texts and one can also guess it, but the book focuses more on the happiness of their present life in a home, not on their hard stories.
100% of the benefits from the sale of this book go to animal protection associations working in galgo rescue.
The contact address for buying the book and for sponsoring interest is libro101galgos@yahoo.com
The price of the book is 25€, plus 5€ sending costs per package (not per book) within Europe, and 10€ for the rest of the world. Special price for organisations.

Hi, do you know if this book will ever be published in English language please? It sounds absolutely wonderful, but sadly I don’t speak Spanish. Catherine x
Hi Catherine
It is a beautiful book. Rosa is trying hard to find a sponsor to pay for the book to be translated and published in English. So if you know anyone who could help her, please put them in touch with her direct through her email address above.
Thanks for reading Galgo News. Please spread the word.
