I have received the following appeal from Mme Catherine Madry, founder of Levriers en Detresse.
‘Do you know any American groups or British who could help us to build a kennel, a Greyhound Adoption Centre? I found a good place but can’t pay on my own : 100 000 euros.
It’s not far from La Charité -sur -Loire in Pouilly- sur -Loire. I have all the certificates of the Ministry of Agriculture to do it, all we need is money to create it.
200 greyhounds a year could easily be rehomed in France, if we have a permanent centre here, which is in the middle of France, about 2 hours from Paris.
I don’t know who could help us. The IGB has offered a van, but we need the funds. 100,000 euros, it’s a lot to us, but not a lot to others. Of course, all groups helping us could see all our accounts.
I love greyhounds more than any other dog or sighthound, it would be so fantastic to rehome more of them’.
Contact Mme Catherine Madry direct if you can offer help. (She speaks superb English)
