RACING DOG PROTECTION ACT
Ask the League Against Cruel Sports to endorse it!

Many of our supporters will be surprised to learn that the League Against
Cruel Sports is not totally opposed to commercial greyhound racing, despite the slaughter and suffering to dogs caused by the greyhound racing industry.
Instead of campaigning for a ban on the industry and urging the public not
to attend or bet on greyhound races, the League is merely calling for improved welfare
measures, which will do little or nothing to end the suffering and wholesale killing of greyhounds (and other dogs) brought about by commercial greyhound racing.

Not only does the League’s position do very little to help the greyhounds,
it also undermines our own campaign to stop these dogs being treated as a money-making commodity and to give them proper protection.

The League didn’t call for welfare reforms when it came to hunting. They,
quite rightly, campaigned for a ban – so why should it be any different when the victims of cruelty are greyhounds?

Please urge the League to reconsider their position and to endorse the
Racing Dog Protection Act (RDPA), a proposed law designed to put an end to commercial greyhound racing by making betting on dog races illegal.
