Do you remember the white galga, Cristal, suffering from a severe bout of mange, with those beautiful odd eyes, which tugged at the heartstrings.
Here is what Isabel, from the
says about Cristal now.
Cristal is now in her foster home, with some new friends, 2 cats and 2 dogs. She is great with both. She is more and more caring and loving, though she still fears people she does not know. She goes for a walk in open spaces, so she is calmer, and learning to walk well outside of the home.
Her surgery for sterilization went quite well, although there was a problem in that she haemorraged. Her coagulation had been tested previously and suggested there would not be any problems. The surgery was fine, but she bled somewhat from the stitches. This is a problem for galgos some times, surgery can be hard on them, but now she has recuperated well.
Her foster parents are amazed at just how much she sleeps in a day, almost all day in fact, alone or in company. But when it is food time, she quickly comes running, poor thing. Surely before she arrived at the association she had never known love, a gentle caress, a kind word.
Cristal is being adopted by a family in Germany, who already have galgos to keep her company.
