Kimba Refuge, Cadiz – flooded out too – desperately needing help

Kimba refuge Cadiz 5 02 2010 190 Chiclana, the city where our Society is placed, in Cadiz, is one of the most affected cities by the storm in Spain. In Chiclana it goes on raining, it is continuously pouring.

Some weeks ago, Kimba asked you for help because our pets, under this cold and bad weather, did not have any dog coats or blankets left

And now because of the continuously rain, our “animal refuge building” is badly affected. The installations were completely flooded after the rainstorm, roofs are in a very bad condition, in the buildings our animals cannot be dry, they keep wet the whole day, installations are highly damage and we go from bad to worse, according to the forecast, it will go on raining hard.

“A little” from each one could mean a “lot” for our animals.
Thanks for your help. We and our animals will be very grateful.

The road to our refuge was very difficult yesterday, completely flooded. We wondered what was happening to our poor animals, stuck in the refuge, thinking of them all the time.

Kimba refuge Cadiz 3 02 2010 250 As we arrived, we found some of the roofs had fallen in, so we quickly had to move the animals elsewhere, because their building was completely flooded out.

All the animals were wet and some of the pet beds were floating in the water.

Kimba refuge hole in the wall 02 2010 250 We had to cut holes in the walls to get the water out!

We are very worried about these bad conditions, because there is more rain forecast.

Lets hope the rain and the winter soon will be over. I fell helpless siting here in Denmark and not being able to help with some manual labour. Instead I can support financially, and have now transferred 50 € by Paypal. I hope a lot of you will donate as well.

Bless you for helping them. Its terrible for
all the refuges awash. When I was in Cordoba last June at the Villa del
Rio shelter, a volunteer said to me it never rains in Cordoba. I imagine
she wishes she had never said such a thing, with the terrible times they are all
having now. I cant begin to imagine the misery of the volunteers, never
mind what the animals are suffering from the cold and wet. Not even a warm dry
    bed.
Thanks for reading Galgo News and
