Little Podenca found in Badajoz – needs medical treatment for eyesight

Podenca Andaluz Badajoz 03 2010 300 An appeal for someone to take this little podenca. She is a Podenca Andaluz, weighing 5 kgs – the same breed of podenca as my own Bebe, who weighs in at just 6 kgs. She was found in the hellhole of Badajoz, wherein is the worst perrera in Spain – Olivenza.

The girl who found her writes:

PODENQUITA: Abandoned in a village in the province of Badajoz, when I came upon her, I noticed something strange when she struck her head walking into walls or traffic signals, poor thing, I took her right away.

Podenca Andaluz Badajoz 3 03 2010 300 I knew something strange was happening, at first I thought she might be blind, so I have been to the vet, who said that she can actually only see shadows, and that could be a neurological problem. The vet would have to do a CT scan and to take her to an ophthalmologist for dogs, but there is nothing here like this,I think not in the whole province of Badajoz.

PLEASE I NEED HELP WITH THIS PODENQUITA I can not do much more for it!!

It is very small in size, weighs about 5 kg. and is very loving, and as you see beautiful.

Please contact this lady rmfs6006@gmail.com

NB I have to tell you that normally I don’t like little dogs, but my Bebe was rescued a couple of years ago, badly injured on a motorway in Seville. She came to my home, was operated on by my wonderful vet, and is now the cutest, most adorable, loving and faithful little creature – definitely a lap dog whenever I sit down to read a book or newspaper!

Please would someone give this little lady a chance, like I gave to Bebe.

    Hello,
In case it’s any help here is a list of neurologist and there are a couple Spain although I am not sure where exactly they are located:

One of our adopted dogs has imilar vision problems and epilepsy which his neurologist thinks is due to lesions he has on the brain from previous head trauma – which I assume means that some Bast*** hit him but after the initially costly neurological exam, he has a good quality of life on daily medication which is not too expensive.
In the long run this little lady would be ok too I am sure.
    Best, Kate
