SARA Lanzarote have details of a case where SEPRONA, the animal section of the Spanish Civil Guard, intervened where a man was keeping 8 Podenco Canarios in terrible conditions on Gran Canaria.
This is a Babelfish translation into English.

Happy Easter to you all.
Is not a surprise to find unkind men taking care of the beautiful dogs (the Galgos).
It will be surprising to find men taking care of dogs well. Just think, children suffer the frustrated dreams of a pedophile. Why is it, that men need to be cruel?
Any kind person up there?

As a dog lover, it makes me sick to read this.
I am hoping that the abuser is prosecuted to the
ninth degree.
It was difficult to follow the interpretation so I am hoping that the abuser(s) are found and prosecuted and these beautiful dogs, of which I didn’t know about until now are protected and saved, and put up for adoption.

Bonjour
I apologise for the translation, I didnt have a
lot of time to rewrite it – it being Easter weekend! – but will go back and do
so this evening. I just wanted to get the story out.
The podencos are also hunting dogs which suffer
sickening cruelty at the hands of the Spanish hunters. There are several
different types, from the miniature Podenco Andaluz, like I have, to the Podenco
Canarios as in this story and the Ibizan Hounds, both the latter being bigger
dogs. Many of the podencos suffer damage to their legs, as they get caught
in the vile metal snares which the hunters set.
In this instance, it says the man will be
prosecuted. I have asked the association to keep me posted.
Thanks for reading Galgo News and for
caring.

Hi Anne
Yes, it is sickening that man is the main
perpetrator of cruelty to animals and children – to be honest, I find it hard to
believe there is a greater being than us, who allows such cruelty.
Thank you as always, for caring.
