Two Galgos in Cuenca killing station – help get them out – Czech rescue asso appeals

Great Hounds In Need is a galgo rescue and rehoming association in the Czech Republic. Here’s a link to their English website. They are appealing for help for two male galgos in the killing station of Cuenca. This is what they say about them.

‘These are two No Name Galgos.

Just “Black” and “Brindle” one. They are 3 years old, good with other dogs, fine around people. The brindle one was taken there because it would not hunt.

We are trying to get them out of there. What we need are families or at least foster homes to bring them out. The transport and other necessary things will be organised through our organization.

In January they rescued 5 galgos and you can read about them on this link. One in particular has made an amazing recovery since she was saved in Spain.

‘The 1st weekend of January we happily welcomed five hounds to their forever homes in the Czech Republic: 4 girls named: Adeleide, Cayetana, Shine and Floriana and one boy – Tyrone.

Adeleide was found straying near to the road in a small city in the La Mancha region in Spain. She was terrified to death and did not want to leave even the car belonging to the people, who brought her to the shelter. Some scars on her body told the tale of her past life and suffering.

If you look at the current Adeleide, you would not recognise the old poor little girl.
She is living happily with her family, near to the other adopted girl, Shine, in South Moravia region. We are happy to see her like this.’
