Save the Galgo – Stop the suffering

Calling the World – STOP galgo racing in Malaga, Spain!

Appalling news from Malaga – the greyhound racetrack reopened on Saturday, 16th June 2012!! A couple of weeks ago Charl of 112carlotagalgos spotted a poster about it in a vet clinic, and couldn’t believe her eyes. Her association and Galgos en Familia already have more than enough abandoned galgos to cope with, without breeders, owners and trainers being encouraged to contribute to the over-population.

You can read about it here, and you will find a link to copy and paste a letter to emailto print off a letter to send to those responsible in Mijas. To send by post, print off a copy of the letter and send to this address.

AYUNTAMIENTO DE MIJAS – TENENCIA DE ALCALDIA DE LA CALA AYUNTAMIENTOS: INFORMACION Y SERVICIOS, Ctra. Cádiz, KM 200 , 29649 , CALAHONDA-CHAPARRAL , MIJAS COSTA (MALAGA)

THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED!

do the Spanish not have enough money problems, without adding more, by opening a track that is totally unwanted + unnecessary, more abused ‘ thrown out dogs’ dogs dying from sheer exhaustion, run till they drop or their lungs explode, kept in appalling conditions left for others to deal with, you are one sick nation of heartless evil people, call yourself a christian country,I think NOT!!!show your priest the dreadful pictures of the aftermath of your cruelty to Gods creatures,or is he involved as well!!! no laws to protect the innocent, with all the bad publicity the Spanish are getting world wide, open your eye to peoples view of Spain as a whole, their barbaric treatment of animals in general, the illegal housing, you are becoming a hated nation!!!!!

Please don’t forget about all the Spanish who care dearly for their Gaglos and dedicate their lives to rescuing and campaigning to end their suffering – please do not tar them all with the same brush.

Obviously, in Spain there is a culture of the good God & Jesus but there is also another religion, with a bloodthirsty God, who approves cruelty and wants bloody sacrifices (as bulls and so on).
When I told our veterinarian back in Hungary about animal cruelty in Spain, her answer was that one of the best animal owners in our village was a Spanish family. They worked in Hungary for a while and went to this vet regularly with their animals.
However, unfortunately, there are still too much barbars in Spain.

I can see why Barbara has such strong views – it is absolutely shameful when a nation allows this degree of cruelty to continue in the name of tradition, sport etc. There are many good hearted Spanish who truly love their pets: but I’d like to see more evidence of these people tackling these issues themselves with their own government who is more likely to listen to the voice of its own people than the cries of other nations. It is no good just loving your own pet – get out there and fight for those who have no home and no hope. Help the helpless! Not just the galgos and pods, but the bulls, horses and othet animals that are tortured and murdered every year in Spanish festivals, traditions and sport. This isn’t about God or religion it is about man’s brutality of those sentient beings that cannot fight for themselves.

Hi Regular readers will know that I always
praise the amazing Spanish volunteers – and others – who live day to day with
the horrendous problem of abandoned dogs and cats, and the cruelty to bulls,
horses, donkeys…..Because if they dont know that all of us outside of Spain
are with them and supporting them, some of them will give up. Thank you
    for caring. Beryl
