Anpana is the Italian association which supports the galgos at Pepis Dog Refuge and rehomes them. An Italian tv crew also came to visit them, to film the dogs and also to visit a galguero to see how he keeps his dogs…you would be shocked that he should be proud to have people see it! They live chained to the wall in stone animal feed troughs in what is not quite a bunker! The videos of the visit are on facebook. If you are able to visit Pepis Refuge facebook page, you may be able to see the videos. Here is a weblink if you wish to try.
There are 26 galgos currently at Pepis and 18 puppies from the two galga bitches which arrived heavily pregnant. They all need feeding, along with the 50+ other dogs. Please help feed them, and home them. And you will be made very welcome if you want to go and spend a week’s holiday volunteering at the refuge. There is a very comfy caravan ready and waiting!
