It’s been a while since I updated on happenings in Polar’s Diary – but that doesn’t mean he has been quiet! He’s been getting his nose in all sorts of forbidden places…such as dog food when the door was left open and turkey joint when it wasn’t put in the fridge! He continues to charm and delight everyone who meets him. Since September he has been going back to school – his sit, stay, recall are excellent – when there isn’t a pheasant in sight! And recently he took part in an obedience demonstration at the open day of a local Agricultural College.
He is a veritable shadow – soon as I move from a chair he is by my side, his head fits nicely into my hand by my side! He enjoys watching documentaries where there are animals involved, Paul O’Grady at Battersea, Alan Davies and the RSPCA dogs. And this weekend Scruffts! (see bottom 2 pix)
He still likes to perch on the chairs and recently worked out how to get himself onto David’s lap for a snooze! We’re careful to make sure his damaged knee is comfy.
Talking of his knee, although 4 specialist vets said not to operate on it, I am concerned at how large it is. It doesn’t prevent him haring about and racing around with Bracken. But it is 3 years since the last xray and in discussion with my lovely French vet, she confirmed there are some specialist vets in France who can do similar work to Fitzpatrick Referrals (who quoted me £8-10,000 to operate on him!). So when he has his vaccinations in June, his leg will also be xrayed and Florence will obtain some quotes for a possible operation on the joint. Meantime, he continues on MSM.
His favourite toy is an empty polythene bottle, especially squashing it, reminiscent of when he was a tiny puppy with Jane and Alan Brian at Pepis.
Enjoy these pix of my lovely boy.
