I’ve been involved in the plight of the Spanish galgo and podenco for 18 years, publicising their plight long before the advent of facebook in 2011.  Not many people outside of Spain knew of the suffering of these wonderful hounds at the hands of the Spanish galguero and podenquero.  Galgos hung from olive trees known as The Piano (this is a rarety now), podencos kept hidden in valleys locked away, let out on hunting days, often starving and dehydrated.

After travelling regularly 6 or 7 times a month with a French rescue association, I witnessed their trauma and suffering and wrote my definitive guide to the plight of the galgo.
