Galgos Rescue Almeria – please donate to vet fees and food for new galgo arrivals

From Jules McMahon

Whilst driving in my home town Antas, Almería I found a Galgo girl so thin I could see her bones. With a badly injured leg she had nowhere to turn. Frightened, exhausted and clearly abandoned.  I contacted Galgo Rescue Almería and without hesitation they took her. She had urgent medical care and was nursed back to health. Her rehabilitation led to her being homed in Lithuania and she is named Jules after me! Today Jules is thriving – playful, trusting and full of life.

Jules’ story has a happy ending, but she is only one of thousands of Galgo’s left to roam, injured and starving when hunting season has ended. Galgo Rescue Almería work around the clock to save these dogs but the need is overwhelming- emergency medical care, long rehabilitation, transport across borders, and finding loving forever homes all cost money and time.

We’re raising funds to support Galgo Rescue Almería ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts so more dogs can get the second chance Jules received. Even small donations add up and can pay for pain relief, a vet visit, a week of rehab or transport.

We are walking the picturesque lake of Cuevas del Almanzora with the support of Lunar Cable Park and Pets Paradise, Los Gallardos, 14th February at 12.00pm. Join our dog walk from anywhere, share your entry and we will upload videos and photo’s to the facebook page so everyone can enjoy the fun!

Thank you for reading Jule’s story and for any support you can give. If you can’t donate right now please consider sharing this campaign to raise awareness – every share helps reach someone who can help save a life.

From Jules and me, thank you.

Donate GoFundMe here.  Thanks.
