For a few years now Protectora Scooby and this Slovenia Rehoming Association have been working together to find loving forever homes for the Scooby rescued galgos. Some of them get together for walks (and litter picking!) in the wonderful woods in the country. If you live in Slovenia, here is a weblink to the lovely galgos waiting.

The Ghosts of Spain by Travis Patenaude
They move in silence, shadows slipping between olive groves and abandoned buildings, forgotten by those who once used them. Their ribs press against thin skin, their eyes—if they survive long enough—turn dull with despair. The ghosts of Spain are not myths or legends; they are the souls of the Galgos and Podencos discarded each year after the hunting season, their suffering woven into the landscape like an unspoken curse.
Some are left to starve, wandering until their bodies give out. Others meet a crueler fate—hanged, drowned, tossed aside as if their lives meant nothing. Yet, if you listen, you can still hear them. In the quiet of an empty field, in the distant echo of paws that once ran with joy, in the wind that carries their unspoken pleas for mercy.
But ghosts don’t have to remain ghosts. Rescue gives them form again—flesh, warmth, love. Awareness gives them voices. And action gives them justice.
Don’t let them fade. Speak for them. Fight for them. Give Spain’s forgotten souls the ending they deserve. #Galgos #Podencos

Stunning Hairy Galgo with Galgos 112 – hoping for a forever home
Hey there!! I introduce myself!! My name is NICO and I’m a blonde and white greyhound. I am only 2 years old. By my face and hair some people think I can be a little crazy, but… i promise you i won’t ! I’m pretty good (almost). They say I’m nice and the truth is I love being with you humans who play with me and pet me. I like being with other dogs too we had so much fun running and playing!.
I lived with my brothers, but one day they separated me from them and took me to a kennel. It was an ugly dark place. All the dogs there were sad and scared, they didn’t want to play, I got that sadness and I also went hungry and scared. But now I’m out!… and I’ve been told that very soon someone will notice me and want to adopt me. I don’t know what “adopt me” means must be a very good thing. I have also been told that I will have a family that will love me very much and will take care of me. I don’t know if it’s true but I prefer to think it is.

Galga x Ika – a scared baby seeking an understanding forever home
Ika is looking for a home where she feels safe and loved!Ika is a beautiful galga cross about 1 year old, medium in size and a soul full of cuteness. She was found abandoned in a field, scared and without knowing who to trust. She’s a *very scared* puppy, but with patience and love, she’s taking baby steps. What’s clear is that he loves the company of other animals: she gets along great with dogs and also cats, so it would be ideal for a home with more furry companions.
We are looking for a peaceful and patient family for her, who respects her rhythm and gives her the security she needs to come out of her shell and show how sweet, good and adorable she really is. Delivered vaccinated, dewormed, chipped, sterilized and blood tested.
If you think you can give Ika the chance she so deserves, contact us at (Spain 0034) 674 476 810
Help her find the home where she can be happy!

Galgos 112 – Galga Danna hoping for a forever home
This beauty is Danna, the supermom who gave birth to her 5 puppies on the street and brought them forward. Now that they are all adopted and happy with their families, it’s her turn.
Danna is in residence waiting to go to a home with whoever wants to foster or adopt her. You don’t know what you’re missing by delaying it.
Danna, besides being beautiful, is sweetness in galga form. She loves cuddles and human contact. She is very well behaved and has a calm temperament. When he sees you with the strap in his hand he comes running to you to put it on and go for a walk. He can live with cats. Hopefully someone notices her soon.
Email info@galgos112.com for more information on how to foster or adopt Danna.
