From Asociacion Del Sur in CordobaWe don’t stop. We are desperate. The galgueros don’t stop dumping and abandoning dogs destined for hunting. This galgo was abandoned in a village of Jaén. They’ve been behind her for 5 days to rescue her. He could have starved to death or a heat stroke, it’s coming very badly. She is now safe at our shelter.
WE NEED TO FUND OVER 100 DOGS. YOU CAN HELP US IN THIS WAY:

Foster or Adopt a Senior – they have just as much love to give

From Galgos 112Have you thought about it, meditated, balance the pros and cons… but you don’t want a dog that’s too “active”.. Have you thought about a grandpa or grandma?
And why not?….. Growing up doesn’t mean they have nothing left to give..
They are caring, calm, understand perfectly the basic rules, they do not need so much activity as a younger one, they have not lost curiosity to know new places and things

Start of hunting season in Spain

From Galgos 112On August 10, the “hunting tooth in hand” period of rabbit begins in Andalucia. It’s a minor type of hunting in which dogs are used to track and capture pieces, without the use of firearms. The terror begins for the poor dogs that won’t stop until February.
We are noticing how the date is getting closer by the number of greyhounds and podencos that appear lying around: now is when they start to take them out of the zulus to prepare and test them. Every day there are new ones abandoned, they are the ones that aren’t strong or the ones that don’t serve them to hunt.

This handsome guy is Bono, a small youngster waiting for an adoptive family. Bono is cat friendly, would need a family that has another furry companion to be more comfortable. He likes the game and as a good galgo sleeping on the couch. If you want to add joy to your family, write with your address and phone to info@galgos112.com and we will contact you.
JOCKER is another of the last greyhounds we picked up in Jaén. He was abandoned in the streets of Linares and was easily caught.

Galgo Jamal – saved from death’s door with Fundacion Benjamin Mehnert
Galgo JAMAL arrived severely beaten and on death’s door. His condition was guarded and everyone at @fundacionbenjaminmehnert held their breath while they took his soul in their hands. Jamal was just a puppy. He had sustained injuries you never want to know let alone see. His road to recovery was guarded.
See his journey from his arrival day to now. He is nothing short of a triumph against the very worst of mankind. He also shows you the very best of mankind, because had he not been taken in by FBM, he would not be here today.
Jamal has had a long journey but he has never given up and nor have we on him.
