  • Scooby – Adopt a Senior Galgo

    Scooby Sinchy 400 9 2024
    From Scooby

‘We have quite a few senior greyhounds at the moment at Scooby, for example this super sweet girl Sinchy. She’s already 8 years old and luckily her galguero doesn’t want her anymore and so she has the chance of a better and dignified life as she deserves.

She’s quite fragile and a little shy and that’s why she’s looking for a calm family, with one or two other dogs because they give them confidence and gets along very well with all other dogs.

For more information email adopciones@scoobymedina.org Sinchy your chip: 1654.’

  • Tripods – amazing galgos on 3 legs

    Tripod Greta 400 8 2024
Sadly some galgos end up losing a leg through being abandoned and then injured on the road. I have met a few in my 17 years involved in galgo rescue, and they are amazing – especially they can run as fast on 3 legs are on 4 – just cornering that can be a problem! Here’s a lovely tripod hoping for a forever home, with SOS Galgos in Barcelona.

‘Greta, happily adopted. Tro, waiting for his turn. They both share a peculiarity, they only have three legs. That makes them even more special, their power of overcoming never ceases to amaze us. Tro doesn’t need any special care, he’s six years old and he’s developing completely normal. Run, play, jump, climb stairs and everything with the joy that characterizes him so much.

If you want to meet Tro email us at adopta@sosgalgos.org if you can’t adopt, spread the word to give him visibility and you’ll be helping him find a home.

  • Galgo Bono with Galgos 112 – waiting 3 years for a forever home

This sweet galgo arrived as a puppy with his brother, at Galgos 112 shelter.

‘Bono came to us along with his brother Nico. Nico had pierced eye and immediately went to a foster home to recover, but poor Bono is still waiting and it’s been three years since he’s been in the residence. We don’t understand what happens to him so unlucky and no one noticed him.

When Bono arrived he was a puppy who was barely a year old, he was an active and playful young man, he didn’t know how to walk on a leash and people were scared of him, but that was behind him. Now, even though he doesn’t like strangers much, when he already knows you, he looks for you asking for cuddles, he loves cuddling. He’s a big strong greyhound, healthy. Also gets along very well with other dogs male and female.

If you want to help and adopt Bono, write to info@galgos112.com and tell us your town and a contact phone number. Could also be fostered until his furever family arrives.

Hopefully, among all of us we can help this big guy and that he will soon be able to enjoy a family.

  • Galga Rosi hoping for a forever home

    SOS Galgos Rosi 1 400
    From SOS Galgos

Rosi’s story starts sooner than we can tell you. Rosi appeared on the estate of a peasant in Segrià (Lérida). The man was able to pick her up and take her to the city hall. She was missing a piece of her tongue, she had no microchip, no sort of identification, and after stopping by the shelter, we asked for help so that she didn’t end up in a tiny, forgotten cage.

She is about three years old, she is already dewormed, vaccinated and the results of her analysis are good. We don’t know anything about his past and he’s only been in the shelter SOS Galgos school for a day but he has a good character and doesn’t seem to have many fears. Welcome Rosi!
