Mo Swatek of Pro-Galgo has sent the following appeal for help to pay vet bills for 4 dogs rescued off the streets of a village in Sevilla. They were too late to save one galga, with pneumonia and parvovirus, but the other galga, two podencos and a bodguero (like a Jack Russell) have been saved. You can read all about it here. You will find details of how to donate at the end of the story.

Seville galga – at risk in a galguero village
Appeal is out to try and rescue this poor galga, in a village in Seville province, in an industrial area near a gitano camp. I’ve asked my friends at Prodeanse, as it sounds as if the galga is in the area near them – which is a hellhole village for galgos. Fingers crossed for the galga. Cordoba and Toledo – bad news for the galgos
There is very bad news and the future looks bleak for the galgos and podencos of Cordoba and Toledo. Asociacion Baas Galgo was given notice to leave the Villa del Rio kennels at Cordoba at the beginning of November, and they have been unsuccessful in purchasing land in Toledo to build a shelter. The dogs in their care have either been found homes across Europe or are with other associations and in kennels. Sandra will continue to work on behalf of the galgos from her new base in the US.

Toldeo, Albacete, Madrid – galgos urgently needing help!
Three galgos – one starving and desperately needing help.
This one is Magilla, a big male Greyhound, which was collected from street by the police, in poor condition all frightened, trembling, with bad pintilla, and it seems that they bleed the legs in the kennel! He needs toleave urgently, if anyone can help, in a town of Toledo. (This is where we’ll miss Baas Galgo and Leticia), contact: adopcionesasha@gmail.com

Update on Miel/Honey – galga left for dead…
The Spanish volunteers and vets work miracles, that is for sure. And the galgos will fight for life to beat the bastards who would beat them to death. Look here at Honey playing in the garden with friends (she’s in the purple coat). One month ago she couldn’t even move a paw. A miracle indeed! (Sorry, only available on Facebook at the moment – I’ve asked for it to be put on YouTube)

Latest news on galga Estrela – fighting the odds in Portugal
You will be upset to learn that Estrela, the Portuguese galga owned by an alcoholic, is still hanging onto life in horrendous conditions, suffering from pneumonia, but Teresa and Ines are able to feed her the high protein diet paid for by donations, and to feed her surviving puppies. They are still hoping to rescue the galga and save her.
